Aging, What to Expect (9:00 am - 10:30 am)
By the end of this presentation, the audience should have a clear understanding of the aging process for older adults. The presenter will identify and explain the natural changes that occur during the aging process, and healthy modifications that can be made to improve one's quality of life as they age.
New Trends & Expectations in Service Coordination (10:45 am - Noon)
Attendees will receive an overview of HUD's new Service Coordinators in Multifamily Housing Program Manual. This session will focus on the newer guidelines and standards that are outlined in this manual that apply only to Service Coordinators in Multifamily Housing program.
Resident Engagement - Different Strokes for Different Folks (1:00 pm - 2:15 pm)
This presentation will discuss basic interviewing techniques to include techniques to enhance communication skills to be used to encourage sharing of information that might be useful in assisting residents with personal concerns/problems.
United States of Numb: Substance Abuse Trends in Senior Adults (2:30 pm - 4:00 pm)
Join us for this session to learn about the current substance abuse trends we are seeing in our senior adult population. We will also cover signs and symptoms of those that might be struggling with substances and resources for help.
