Make Ready Maintenance
Learn how to address one of the most important roles that a maintenance technician has at an apartment community: getting an apartment ready for a new resident. This program reviews the role that a maintenance technician plays in inspecting and  scheduling a vacant apartment through to completion. We'll also cover the role of the maintenance department regarding  renewals.Topics Covered:
  • Scheduling and prioritizing maintenance tasks
  • Observation skills and strategies when turning a unit
  • Viewing the apartment as a product
  • Maintenance’s role with new residents and resident retention
  • Solutions to common problems
  • Loss prevention (move-out inventory)
  • How a make-ready checklist is an effective tool
Safety on Site
This program provides a good introduction to OSHA and the regulations they have designed to keep the maintenance associate  healthy. 
Topics Covered:
  • MSDS/SDS and their importance
  • Chemical storage and use
  • Moving heavy equipment properly
  • Crime and security issues
  • The need for and use of protective equipment
  • Requirements for the lockout/tagout kit and its use
  • Bloodborne pathogens and how to prevent infection
  • Ladders and their use 
  • Natural safety issues

This event provides 6 hours of Continuing Education Credit. Your certificate will be available in your SAHMA web account after the event is completed.
All registrations will close 10 business days prior to the start of the event.
Payment:  Once a registration has been submitted, the registrant is responsible for payment! Registration fees are based on the membership status of your organization at the time of registration.
Cancellations: Must be received in writing 10 business days prior to the start of the event to receive a refund less a $75 fee. After that date, only substitutions may be made, but no refunds are available.  NO SHOWS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FULL REGISTRATION FEE!
Attire: Business Casual is suggested. The temperature in conference facilities and training rooms is difficult to control.  Please dress accordingly.
Badges: The badges provided are required for entry into meeting sessions, trade show and reception.
