Our rapidly aging population demands a fundamental shift in the way we interact and support our residents. Our residents and staff are becoming more diverse in terms of color, culture, identity, disability, and socio-economic background. As a result, we must ensure we are prepared to serve and provide affordable, quality housing for older adults. Through the years, we have heard a lot about cultural competency, multiculturalism and diversity. More and more providers are understanding the need to foster a diverse and inclusive community. We must be prepared to meet the needs of the residents and staff of the future. We will explore a variety of topics as well as share resources around current promising practices.
