Have you ever told an applicant you are a tax credit property…only to secretly question what a tax credit really is?! Have you responded to a syndicator audit….and wondered who this company is that wants so much information? Do you follow policies on how to certify residents for eligibility….but wonder where the rules are published that you follow? If so, this is a perfect training for you. Each day we are tasked with protecting the owner’s credits and responding to various agencies. However, we do not always fully understand the value of what we are protecting (and how it works) or who we are being required to provide information to (or how to explain how we qualified the household the way we did). Learn the details of what a tax credit is and how they are valued, who the major players in this program are and how they impact compliance, and what regulatory documents we must follow (and how to use them when responding to an audit). This webinar will allow you to be more confident when speaking to your applicants, supervisor, owner, and Housing Finance Agency. Understanding the basic Who, What, and Why of our job as an LIHTC professional is crucial to being successful in your position.
