Announcing Third Round of New Construction Funding for Off-Farm Labor Housing Loans and Grants
Notice of Solicitation of Applications
On April 21, 2022, Rural Development published a Notice of Solicitation of Applications (NOSA) for the third round of new construction funding for Section 514 Off-Farm Labor Housing (FLH) Loans and Section 516 Off-FLH Grants. The third funding round opens on May 16th, 2022. Also included in this Notice is information on addressing funding gaps in current and future FLH-assisted transactions and enhanced program compatibility as it relates to industry timeframes associated with third-party funding commitments. Sections 514 and 516 FLH programs provide financing for new construction of off-farm labor housing units to supply more affordable housing for farm laborers, including domestic farm laborers, retired domestic farm laborers, and disabled domestic farm laborers.
