HUD Considers a New Round of COVID-19 Supplemental Payments (CSP); Seeks Recommendations to Expand CSP Eligible Expenses
HUD's Office of Multifamily Housing (MFH) is considering opening another round of COVID-19 Supplemental Payments (CSP). NAHMA recently met with MFH leadership and received a request to share member feedback on any new needs or expense requests that were not covered in the previous CSP rounds. To offset property expenditures to combat the effects of COVID-19, four rounds of supplemental payments were available for operating cost increases directly related to a property's efforts to prevent and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. HUD is now considering adding new eligible expenses to include in a potential funding round. If you have encountered additional costs related to COVID-19 that were not eligible to be covered in the previous CSP rounds, please let Larry or me know and we will share the recommendations with HUD staff.
As this is a time sensitive request, we recommend interested members share their recommendations by Thursday, January 13, 2022.
