Vaccine Events & Partnering with FQHCs
Would you like to reach out to a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) for help with a community vaccination event? Find help with HUD's interactive mapping tool. This mapping tool can help you:
- Locate the FQHCs in and near your community
- Identify Public Housing and Multifamily properties within FQHC service areas
- Focus on priority areas with 20% of HUD-assisted residents 8+ miles away
- Leverage HUD place-based programs to better connect with FQHCs
You can host multiple events - including an event for a select group of residents who have not been vaccinated yet.
Looking to partner with a non-FQHC vaccine provider? For help, go to Vaccines.gov or vacunas.gov, which features 50,000 vaccination sites across the country, including primary care physicians, federal pharmacy partners, state sites, and FEMA sites. Locations are updated daily.
Virtual Service Coordinators
We published a new appendix to HUD's Service Coordination in Multifamily Housing Resource Guide, on “Building Capacity for Virtual Service Coordination.” This new resource (Appendix C of the Guide) provides best practices in conducting service coordination when working from a location other than the property. It builds on the experience of Multifamily property owners and service coordinators during the coronavirus pandemic, when many properties had to transition to virtual service coordination to support residents while adhering to state and local social distancing guidelines.
While fostering a trusting relationship with residents through in-person connections is fundamental for successful service coordination, there may be circumstances when the service coordinator needs to work virtually. This new appendix addresses four primary considerations:
- Ensuring that Service Coordinators have the technology and equipment to work off-site
- Determining what aspects of Service Coordination can or should be done virtually
- Maintaining connection with residents
- Using technology to engage with residents

Webinar - Reducing Community Violence
The White House is hosting a webinar series focusing on evidence-based approaches to community violence interventions. The first, “Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Webinar Series Part 1: Evidence-based Theory and Research on CVI” will take place on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 1:00–2:30 p.m. ET.
In this webinar, presenters will discuss immediate steps communities can take to reduce community violence as well as the social determinants of health (e.g., norms, policies) that can lead to inequities in violence.
Note that registration is limited, so please consider sending one representative from your organization to maximize the number of organizations that can participate. The webinar will also be recorded and available for viewing later.
