NAHMA HUD Update: HUD Issues Multifamily COVID-19 Guidance for Residents

HUD's Office of Multifamily Housing published a COVID-19 resource brochure for residents and families living in multifamily properties.

HUD's Office of Multifamily Housing published a COVID-19 resource brochure for residents and families living in multifamily properties. The document addresses which steps residents can take in case of lost income during the COVID-19 national emergency, provides local contact information, and explains the eviction moratorium in the CARES Act. This brochure does not apply to the Public Housing Program, the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program (except for multifamily housing properties insured by the FHA), or the Housing Choice Voucher Program (except when a voucher is used in a multifamily housing property with an FHA-insured mortgage).

HUD's Office of Multifamily Housing has requested that you please distribute this information widely by sending the brochure directly to residents via email, and posting it in public areas of apartment buildings (lobby, laundry, and meeting rooms for example). The Multifamily Tenant Concerns COVID-19 brochure can be found, HERE.
