Applications for the ConnectHomeUSA Expansion are now open! Under the CHUSA expansion, HUD seeks to serve new communities from urban, rural, and Tribal locations while continuing to support existing CHUSA communities.

“HUD is committed to ensuring families and their children have access to affordable and reliable internet,” said HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge. “The ConnectHomeUSA Initiative helps to bridge the digital gap so that families have equitable access to broadband resources so that they can succeed.”

Applications will be open from December 19th, 2023, until Februrary 15th, 2024. CHUSA staff will host a webinar on the application process on January 11th, 2024, the link to register is below. For any questions, please reach out to ConnectHome@hud.gov

REGISTER TODAY: Steps for Applying to Join the ConnectHomeUSA Expansion
Join us for a webinar to learn more about the ConnectHomeUSA Expansion and how to apply to join. This new phase will accept 50 to 100 new participants as Tier 1 communities. This new phase will also begin serving HUD-assisted multifamily housing communities who are interested in creating more connected communities. During this webinar, CHUSA staff will provide an overview of the application requirements outlined in the Federal Register Notice, discuss the restructuring of the program, and highlight the benefits of joining ConnectHomeUSA! This webinar will be held on Thursday, January 11th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM ET.

Join HUD's nonprofit partner, EducationSuperHighway, to discuss how public housing authorities (PHAs) and other HUD-assisted housing providers can be positioned to make a meaningful impact in the Challenge Process and maximize Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) funding for vital internet access for their residents. This webinar will provide an overview of the NTIA Model Challenge Process, including the Area and MDU challenge module, and will equip participants with information and tools they need to make meaningful impact in the challenge process.
