HUD Issues Updated Guidance to Enhance Use of Supportive Services Programs at Properties for Low-Income Seniors
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Multifamily Housing Programs announced today new guidance to reinforce the importance of required supportive service programs and the many allowable uses of supportive services funds to support independent living for seniors.
PBRA Standard Program Regulation and Renewal Contract: Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Request for Public Comment
HUD has recently published an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance: Standard Program Regulation and Renewal Contract (also attached) and is requesting comments from the public. New VAWA Resources, Funding Opportunities, Trainings, and Technical Assistance
Today, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced new resources to advance housing protections for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). USDA Launches Rural Data Gateway to Strengthen Partnerships and Expand Access to Resources for People in Rural America
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Under Secretary Xochitl Torres Small today unveiled the Rural Data Gateway, a new resource to make the Department’s data for rural projects easier to access for its partners and for people living in rural communities. The Rural Data Gateway will help USDA better target resources to the people who need them most in rural places. HUD Awards $315 Million in Historic Grants to Address Unsheltered and Rural Homelessness
Today, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is announcing the first set of communities to receive grants and vouchers to address homelessness among people in unsheltered settings and in rural communities. Today’s announcement totals nearly $315 million in grants to 46 communities. Yesterday, HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing Programs published a draft of the Housing Opportunity through Modernization Act of 2016 (HOTMA) final rule. HUD provided links to dedicated HOTMA websites for both program offices: Multifamily Housing and Public and Indian Housing (PIH).In addition, MF Housing also included a one-pager (also attached) on the final rule and a preview version of the draft Final Rule (also attached).
Per HUD, this Final Rule covers Sections 102, 103, and 104 of HOTMA:.
- Section 102: Changes requirements related to income reviews for the Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), and Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) programs.
- Section 103: Modifies the continued occupancy standards of Public Housing residents (does not apply to Multifamily Housing programs).
- Section 104: Sets maximum asset limits for eligibility and continued assistance in the Public Housing, HCV, Section 8 PBRA programs.
HUD Announces $116 Million in New and Renewal FSS Awards & Releases Updated FSS Guidebook
