USDA Partners to Create Thriving, Livable Communities That Will Attract People and Jobs to Rural Areas and Tribal Nations
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Under Secretary Xochitl Torres Small today announced that USDA is awarding $4 million in cooperative agreements to 17 organizations under the Rural Placemaking Innovation Challenge (RPIC). The Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) is a tool developed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to address living conditions in public housing properties. The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) announced preliminary results of the 2022 Point-in-Time Count showing an 11% decline in Veteran homelessness since early 2020, the last time a full count was conducted. HUD Seeks Feedback on Section 811 and Section 202 RAD Conversions
The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022 authorized the conversion of properties assisted under HUD's Multifamily Section 811 Assisted Housing Program for persons with disabilities through the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD).
