HUD Income Limits Released for FY19

Today, HUD released income limits for 2019. HUD develops income limits based on Median Family Income estimates and Fair Market Rent area definitions for each metropolitan area, parts of some metropolitan areas, and each non-metropolitan county.

Recently, HUD issued guidance related to Fiscal Year 2019 Inflation Factors for Public Housing Agency Renewal Funding; implementation of Fiscal Year 2019 Funding Provisions for the Housing Choice Voucher Program; and Streamlined Voluntary Conversions of Small Public Housing Agencies.

HUD Tells Public Housing Authorities and Private Owners to Protect Residents From Carbon Monoxide

WASHINGTON - In an effort to protect families living in federally subsidized housing from potentially deadly carbon monoxide (CO), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today sent all public housing authorities and private owners of HUD-subsidized housing a notice to remind and encourage them to install working CO detectors in their properties. NAHMA HUD Update: Comments Requested on HUD Approach to Opportunity Zones

Today, HUD released a Request for Information (RFI) regarding HUD policy in Opportunity Zones. HUD seeks input and recommendations from the public regarding potential agency actions. Comments are due to NAHMA by Friday, June 7, 2019.

NAHMA HUD Update: HUD Proposes Updates to Section 3 Requirements and Compliance Benchmarks

This month, HUD published a proposed rule to update its Section 3 regulations. Separately, HUD also published for comment proposed benchmarks for measuring Section 3 compliance with the final rule.
