Description
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, performs overall construction project management for all Authority residential rehabilitation construction projects, and administrative work planning, organizing, and directing the agency’s Facilities, Fleet, and Safety programs. Work includes independent cost development using RS Means, conducting as-needed, on-site inspections, reviewing plans and specifications, providing technical input, and preparing technical reports. Conducts residential rehabilitation condition and physical condition needs assessments and designs corrective solutions. At times working cooperatively with the other staff/departments manages residential, commercial, and CFP funded construction contracts and related work as required, ensuring compliance on all levels. Performance of the duties requires a thorough knowledge of programs, construction, materials, and techniques and the ability to effectively communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, local government staff, and program participants. The position is tasked with coordinating the agency’s Safety Program and leading a Safety Committee.
Requirements
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. SUP: 0-5 people. Employee must possess strong leadership skills, administrative capabilities, and a working knowledge of the Comprehensive Fund Program.
