CPO CERTIFICATION
The Certified Professional of Occupancy course is a comprehensive three-day program for affordable housing management staff. It focuses on the HUD Handbook 4350.3 and each participant receives a copy of the handbook. Participants should have a basic knowledge of the 4350.3 Handbook prior to registration.
Topics include all portions of the handbook including eligibility; occupancy standards; tenant screening; assets and income; leases and rent computations. At the end of the course, a half-day examination is given and participants must pass the exam to become certified.
CPO certification or an equivalent course is required to complete NAHP certification. Fees and reasonable expenses for the course are a HUD-approved project expense.
For information see the Education Calendar for the next available CPO Course.
