ED SISSON AWARD
Download an Application (Acrobat Reader required)The Ed Sisson Award was founded in honor of one of SAHMA's founding fathers who dedicated his property management career to improving the lives of his residents and helped set the standards for superior performance in the management of affordable housing.
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an employee of a SAHMA member company who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of affordable housing property management. Award presentation is made during the annual SAHMA Regional Fall Conference.
To be eligible, applicants must:- be employed by a SAHMA member in good standing, working on-site or at a management company
- possess a proven positive impact on affordable housing
- have been involved with proven resident-based social action programs
- have participated in the formation or operation of active resident councils
- be over the age of 18
- furnish at least two letters of recommendation from industry-related organizations or social agencies.
Award recipients are selected by the SAHMA Scholarship Committee based solely on information presented in the application. Award money must be used for property management courses or industry-related workshops and seminars within one calendar year from the date of the award.
