AWARDS

SAHMA's Mission Statement maintains that it is an objective of the organization to promote a standard of excellence in the management of government-subsidized housing. To that end, SAHMA offers several achievement awards to exceptional properties and professional personnel each year, as well as a poster contest for residents of affordable properties.

Drug Free Poster Contest
Regional contest and awards are open to children in grades K-12 and Seniors who are residents of SAHMA member properties. Winning poster/art is sent to the national contest sponsored by NAHMA, winning poster/art will be featured in a Drug-Free Calendar.

Excellence Program
SAHMA's Excellence in Management Program - honoring the on-site management/maintenance staff that is an integral part of every management company team.

Ed Sisson Award
given to an employee of a member company who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of affordable housing property management. The winner receives an educational scholarship to be used to advance their career in our industry. This award is presented at the annual Regional Fall Conference and Trade Show event.

Communities of Quality
The new Communities of Quality National Recognition program has a broad scope and is open to any affordable housing provider in the country who meets a set of criteria. Applicants who score exceptionally high in the National Recognition program are eligible to compete for the coveted, national COQ Awards.
